Bolden’s father said the fact his son did not play in the bowl game cemented his decision to leave the school.

The rumors allege that Paterno is suffering from some health issues and that he would step down after the team’s matchup against Florida in the Outback Bowl.

Paterno’s wife said that the head coach is supposedly in the hospital when in actuality he is sitting at their dinner table.

The head coach is set to wrap up his 45th season with Penn State and plans to coach through next year, the final one on his contract.

His daughter said that it seems like every year someone claims he is going to retire and said that, at some point, someone might guess right.

Penn State fell behind 21-3 by the end of the third quarter and then couldn’t dig themselves out from the deficit.

Inexperienced quarterback Matthew McGloin threw for 312 yards, two touchdowns and an interception.

Star running back Evan Royster lead the team’s ground attack with 85 yards rushing and a touchdown.

The loss dropped the disappointing Nittany Lions to 7-5 on the season and just 4-4 in Big 10 play.

The soon to be 84-year old head coach will be in his 46th season with the Nittany Lions and has 401 career wins.

He is excited about the prospects of next year’s team considering how young they were this season.

It seems that as long as Paterno is coaching a winner, the school won’t push him to retire or not bring him back.

Paterno is heading into the final year of his contract, so it will be interesting to see what happens in 2012.
